La Domenica del Corriere
La Domenica del Corriere weekly was founded in Milan in 1899 and shut down in 1989.
It started out as an illustrated supplement to the “Corriere della Sera” distributed for free or sold alone for 10 cents of a Lira. It was created to be “the Italians’ weekly”, based on news, featuring its large size for the better positioning of photographs and drawings, one of the main reasons for its success. Among the illustrators that made its history, we would like to mention Achille Beltrami and Walter Molino. In the 1920s and 1930s it became Italy’s most popular weekly, with a circulation of 600,000.
